So 421 6759 is four-two-one, six-seven-five-nine. The ‘0’ is pronounced ‘Oh’. 081 436 0872 is oh-eight-one, four-three-six, oh-eight-seven-two. These numbers are in groups. The groups are codes for areas in Britain. When we say the numbers, we pause between the groups. However, when the same number occurs twice, the word ‘double’ is used with the number. 1994422 is one-double nine, double-four, double-two.
